After great success of Jaane Tu .. Imran is back with movie Kidnap in negative shade released this week, for viewers this will be a total change watching Imran in a role totally different, holding a girl with gun on her head. Kidnap is directed by the Sanjay Gadhvi who also directed Dhoom 1 & 2 and has established himself as a stylish director.
Kidnap is suppose to be a action thriller with the looks of promo, Kidnap music is also doing good and since it is released along with Drona has generated some rivalry.
Kidnap also stars Sanjay Dutt , Minissha Lamba and Vidya Malvade .
Let’s see how Kidnap is rated by critics and what movie is all about
Kidnap Synposis :
Kidnap plot as the name suggest centers around Kidnap of Minissha , daughter of Sanjay Dutt by Imran . Minissha lives with her mother Vidya who is divorced by Sanjay Dutt.
Reason for Imran doing Kidnap is to settle some scores with Sanjat Dutt , he lays down some task for Sanjay Dutt , each task leads Sanjay Dutt closer to Imran .
Plot looks quiet exciting.
Good and Bad in Kidnap :
Obviously first good part of the movie is presence of Imran who is riding on the success of Jaane tu .. and Director Sanjay Gadhvi who is known for stylishing his movie well.
As per Buzz18 good part of the movie is great location, Minissha dance in scantly dressed clothes and some good action sequences.
TOI has also rated this movie as watchable for Imran’s fan , adventurous sequences and “steamier” Vidya (Minissha’s mother ). Looks like mother and daughter is both fighting to change there “girl-next-door” image.
Indiafm seems doesn’t like Kidnap at all and were trying to find out sense in Bollywood movie (.. J ..) and has thrashed the script and direction and to quote them
Sanjay Gadhvi is letdown by a script that easily ranks amongst the worst of 2008.
Basically Indiafm went to the technicals of flim making in the review and didn’t liked the movie at all.
Reviews looks mixed but all has praised Imran Khan.
Verdict :
Indiafm has given rating of 2/5
Buzz18 has given rating of 2/5.
TOI has given rating of 3/5 and to quote them
Watch it for Imran and some high-adrenalin action sequences.
I will surely go for Kidnap as I am a fan of thriller movies and Imran is the one to look out for , he is making long strides in right direction and is a next superstar.

Kidnap is a great movie and must watch for everyone. Imran and Sanjay has done great job . Kidnap is a thriller from start to the end . Dont listen to the critic.

I watched the movie today (morning show).
It is definitely a much better movie than what is quoted on even the most well known movie review websites. Most of the action sequences were well scripted within range for the general audience.
I agree with author here that if u r a fan of Imran Khan, u will like his acting in a completely different role.
Though the movie could have been even better had it included a more engaging script… the climax though was a nice one.

I liked Kidnap very much. Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan rocks!. There are some good chase scenes in this film.Thrilling movie! Its worth watching
