This week we will be seeing the release of two potential blockbusters Sanjay Gadhvi’s Kidnap and Goldie Behl’s Drona. An interesting story, good star cast and lot of investment is what both these movies have.
After Dhoom and Dhoom 2 by Gadhvi, Kidnap seems another action movie by him that will keep you on the edge of the seat. It stars Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan and Minisha Lamba. Imraan has surprisingly chosen to play a negative role so early in his career. He is Kabir, a guy who wants to get even with Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay Dutt is Vikrant Raina, an Indian Businessman based in New York with his wife (they have broken up) and daughter staying in India. Kabir kidnaps Vikrant’s daughter, Sonia and puts tasks in front of Vikrant. After completion of every task, Vikrant is given a hint which takes him a step closer to Sonia.
This movie could raise many questions to ponder on like, how far would a father go for his daughter? Is Kabir justified or redeemed in what he has done??
This is Shree Astavinayak Cinevision Ltd’s big release after Jab We Met, which fared pretty well according to the director Gadhvi, it is more emotional and dramatic than the Dhoom flicks. The music is pretty good but not as groovy as the Dhoom tracks were.
Contrary to Kidnap which provokes real-life questions is the fantasy drama Drona staring Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. Abhishek is a legendary warrior, Drona who is unaware of being a warrior the only thing unusual about him is a particular nightmare that he keeps seeing in his sleep! 
The villain is Kay Kay Menon as Riz Razaida, an evil magician who wants to attain an ancient secret of the universe. Drona is the only warrior who can kill this magician and hence, Riz’s men are hunting Drona. As these men reach Drona, he is protected by a clan who believes he is going to save the world (kinda cliched). The leader of this clan is Priyanka Chopra (lookout for her stunts). As the clan is trying to convince Drona of his identity, the evil men attack them and it is time for Drona to take up his mantle of a great warrior.
This is the first movie under the banner of Eros Pictures and large amount of money has gone into the sets, locations and costumes. Scenes have been shot in Namibia, Prague and other international places. Reviews of its music by Dhruv Ghanekar is fairly okay, I am just hoping that it is not overtly cliched!
I think both these movies have great potential to be great hits. Kidnap seems the one with greater depth, hence might get more critical acclaim, however I am really keen on watching Drona since I am quite a buff of fantasy movies.

Drona will be a flop because Abhishek cant act and Kidnap will be a hit because it has better director and good story.

Drona will be big flop. Because both Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra cant act, they are aged.

I am anti-fan of Abhishek…. I think nobody takes him in a movie without either mummy or papa
but I won’t agree that Priyanka is aged! she sexy & sizzling in Dostana Promos….

I saw kidnap, its a great movie.. and i dont want to see drona, as it is lustreless..
Go see kidnap and rock with imran and minisha…
The plot is interesting and you hold ur breath till end..

I think kidnap will be one of the greatest flop as both Imran Khan and Minisha Lamba don’t know how to act. Whereas Priyanka and Abhishek have won many awards. I have watched both kidnap and drona and drona seems too be by far the better film. So go and watch drona instead of the boring kidnap.

Com-mon Abhinesh , Imran knows acting may be Kidnap didnot provided him the role …but that dude defiantly rocks . Regarding Drona I will reserve my comments till I see that movie.

By the way Abhinesh, do u know that imran has got the best actor of the week award(for last week actually).So how can u say that he doesn’t know acting.Instead , I would say that abhishek doesn’t know acting.That is why all his films r superflop.Drona is really stupid movie and also kidnap is running far more successfully than drona.

Drona is the worst film ever, completely rubbish. Scenes are random and contradict with each other (e.g old kingdom and car chases….)
Kidnap is ok, average storyline but good songs.
Both are disappointing but Kidnap is better

kidnap will be better because drona has a stupid storyline and abhishek who cant act as a superhero, drona is more than a flop.kidnap has better actors and it has a good story, the reviews on drona wasnt good at all, for drona my rating is 5.6 and for kidnap my rating is 8.5

drona and kidnap both r boring dull movies…drona because of the acting and lame effects and kidnay because of the lousy script and story line…the perfomances were not good either..what’s wrong with these people? have they forgotten how to act?
