Drona starring Abhishek,Priyanka , Kay Kay and  Jaya Bachchan is making news for cool promos and special effects . Movie is suppose to be a fantasy plus action movie with Drona as superhero and explores Indian mythology , legends and magicians.

I was enjoying the  promos thinking Drona will be a superhero  initially but off late it has started to look otherwise . I don’t want to be soothsayer and don’t like to demean somebody’s work before looking at it completely but whatever promos I have seen  I think Drona is no superhero movie and here is my reasoning :

Note :  I am a not  Abhishek fan. I liked him only in Guru and Yuva coincidentally both directed by Maniratnam.

Superhero should not be out of shape.

If you have seen Drona Promos then you must have noticed how out of shape AB baby is looking. In the world where even average college guys have perfectly scalped body (or an aspiration for it) who wants to see a super hero who is looking fat. For superhero clothes should reveal look at Superman , Batman and Krissh  they have perfect bodies and there clothes reveal there abs not designer stickers.

If superhero cant take care of himself how can he take care of this world.

Superhero should not be lethargic

We all know how lethargic AB baby is just see his dancing skills ,  now in a super hero movie where hero should be (hyper) active and should be jumping around . I dont know what AB baby will be doing, Drona shows AB doing sought of ramp walk ,  showing attitude and some fight sequence but no superhero mobility like Spiderman .

If Superhero cant move swiftly then how will he save the world.

Superhero should not have beard

If I am not wrong Drona will be the first super hero who will have beard , Superman doesn’t have it, Spider man doesn’t have it, Krissh doesn’t have it and all are doing great or have done great and saved the world . Here AB in his typical style is shown with big beard and Kay Kay the villain is shown clean shaven , may be producer of the movie want to go against the tide literally and wanted to give distinct looks to the Superhero. God save them.

If a superhero cant clean his face how can we expect Drona to clean the world from evil and save us.

(Lack of) Special effects

If news is to be believed Drona is suppose to have best special effects in Indian cinema but whatever promos  are shows it hardly boast of any effects. Special effects are one which makes movie with hero a superhero movie better the effects the better the superhero.

In one promo Priyanka who btw is Drona’s bodyguard  is shown doing dance number when she should be showing sword skills and in other promos AB is riding horse when he should be flying or crawling wall or throwing fireballs. In the  times of WALL-E  , Transformers and DarkKnight  standards are very high so Drona should have better effects then what is shown in promos.

I am sure you are convinced by now that Drona is no superhero but that doesnot mean you shouldn’t watch it , go for sure and watch it like a normal movie and have fun for me having written all this doesnt meant I am not going being a movie buff myself I will surely go .
